Marija Panova-Qu
UWC Adriatic, 2007-2009
Greetings from Botswana!
My name is Marija Panova-Qu from Gevgelija, and I'm a former student at UWC Adriatic, from 2007 to 2009.
The extraordinarily unique program and intercultural environment at UWC showed me that I'd like to continue my education at a university with similar traits. The Kofi Annan scholarship at Macalester College in Minnesota allowed me to fulfill that wish.
These two incredible educational institutions gave me a chance to experience different academic disciplines, work opportunities, and unique friendships all across the world, which I would not have had if I weren't chosen to attend UWC.
At Macalester, I studied Psychology, Linguistics and Spanish Studies. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant to my psychology professors, as well a the National Museum in Minnesota. My primary interests are learning foreign languages and world cultures, researching psychology, fitness and travel.
Today, I love in Botswana with my husband Daniel Qu, who is also a former student at both UWC (Waterford Kamhlaba) and Macalester College. We have two daughters, Mia & Eve. Our basic business projects involve international commerce, as well as real estate in Botswana.
